February 22, 23, 28, March 1, 2 @ 7:30
Adults $25, Students & Seniors $20, Children $15

In a time before Facebook and Netflix, Agnes Evans rolls through the 90’s, totally average, until her family dies in a terrible car crash. Agnes finds herself alone, with a Dungeons and Dragons adventure that her geeky little sister Tilly left behind. When Agnes recruits a “dungeon master” to walk her through the campaign, we dive into a world of supermodel elves, warrior demons and other D&D monsters. Agnes learns how to fight, how to heal, and discovers the sister she never really knew. She Kills Monsters is a geeky comedy, full of professionally trained combat, that relays the importance of empowerment and acceptance.

Cast & Crew of Blackbird & Mary's Wedding

Stage North travelled to Vernon at the end of June to participate in Theatre BC's Mainstage theatre festival.

Stage North attended Mainstage with two plays. The first play, Blackbird, was chosen at the regional theatre festival  while the second play, Mary’s Wedding, was randomly chosen as a workshop play.

Blackbird is a heavy drama about two people who meet fifteen yeaars after having a very unconventional affair when they were young. Mary’s Wedding follows a girl in the 1920’s on the day before her wedding while the love of her life was in World War I.

Blackbird was named the winner of the Burnaby award which is given to the runner-up play at the Mainstage competition. The play also won the Best Set Design and Property Awards.

Mary’s Wedding was chosen as the workshop play, which meant it was workshopped by professional director, Andrew McIlroy and performed for a viewing audience. The play was given the Workshop Award for their efforts.
